Topic: Earth Loop Impedance Tests

As an electrician why do we not specify Earth Loop Impedance tests per pole on a regular basis ?

Its the only true way to determine if the Earth Fault Loop is sufficiently low to ensure the Fault current protection will trip.

Re: Earth Loop Impedance Tests

Brendon Tong did a lot of work on this a few years ago. If you contact Brendon directly he'll be able to share with you the results of his testing.

Although this won't actually answer your question.

I suspect the actual answer to your question is the same reason we don't do a lot of stuff - we may not have been able to technically achieve it in the past, and now we can there is no pressure to actually do it, because we've never done it...
